Abstract

Pengucapan kosakata bahasa Inggris dan pengenalannya menjadi perhatian yang besar di Kelompok Bermain Sekolah Bogor Raya mengingat kegiatan pembelajaran yang berlangsung menggunakan bahasa Inggris. Selain itu anak juga dilatih untuk terampil mengungkapkan pendapat dalam bahasa Inggris. Kurangnya pengucapan kosakata bahasa Inggris pada anak K2 di KB Sekolah Bogor Raya menyebabkan menurunnya kemampuan pengucapan menggunakan bahasa Inggris dalam kegiatan belajar dan percakapan sehari-hari. Oleh karena itu, siswa-siswa K2 di Sekolah Bogor Raya perlu dibekali dengan kosakata bahasa Inggris yang cukup untuk percakapan sehari-hari sehingga dapat mengungkapkan pendapat dengan baik dan jelas serta memahami kegiatan pembelajaran selama pelajaran berlangsung. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menerapkan metode bernyanyi untuk meningkatkan pengucapan kosakata bahasa Inggris dalam topik transportasi dan pengenalan kosakata bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan tiga siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari satu kali pertemuan dengan subyek penelitian adalah 12 siswa kelas K2 Kelompok Bermain Sekolah Bogor Raya. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan observasi, tes dan wawancara yang dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode bernyanyi dapat meningkatkan pengucapan kosakata dalam bahasa Inggris dengan nilai akhir sebesar 71% dan pengenalan kosakata bahasa Inggris dengan nilai akhir sebesar 68%. / The English pronunciation and its introduction are of great concern in Sekolah Bogor Raya Play Group, considering that the learning activities taking place are in English. In addition, the children are also trained to skillfully express their opinions in English. The lack of English pronunciation in K2 children at Sekolah Bogor Raya Play Group has decreased the ability to speak English in everyday learning and conversations. Therefore, the K2 students in Sekolah Bogor Raya Play Group need to be equipped with sufficient English vocabulary for their daily conversations so that they can express their opinions well and clearly; hence, they can understand the learning activities during the lessons. The purpose of this study is to apply the singing method to improve the pronunciation of English in transportation topics and the introduction of the English vocabulary. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) was conducted with three cycles. Each cycle consisted of one meeting with the research subjects of 12 students of K2 class at Sekolah Bogor Raya Play Group. The data collection was done by conducting some observations, tests and interviews that were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results have shown that the application of the singing method could improve their pronunciation in English with a final grade of 71% and the introduction of English vocabulary with a final grade of 68%
