Abstract

This study is aimed for exploring the effect of implementing Differentiated Instructions approach toward students’ mathematics anxiety. This study is conducted using pre-experimental method, especially one group pretest-posttest. This research is done to 44 grade 5 students, consist of 14 boys and 30 girls. After the data being collected, prerequisites tests were done and it was proven that the data collected was normally distributed and homogenous. The average decrease in the value of students’ mathematics anxiety is 3,068. By conducting t-dependent test, it was found that the implementation of Differentiated Instructions can decrease students’ mathematics anxiety significantly, since the result stated that t value is 6,821, with p = 0,00 < 0,05. Furthermore, a Two Way Anova test was conducted to see the difference in the decreasing value of students’ mathematics anxiety between boys and girls, also between students with low, middle or high The result shown that the decrease in the value of students’ mathematics anxiety does not differ between male and female students, as well as students with low, moderate or high mathematics ability. / Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh implementasi pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Differentiated Instructions terhadap penurunan kecemasan matematis siswa kelas 5 SD. Penelitian ini merupakan penenliian kuantitatif dengan rancangan pre-experimental design, yang berbentuk one group pretest-posttest. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 44 orang siswa, yang terdiri dari 14 orang siswa laki-laki dan 30 orang siswa perempuan. Setelah data berhasil dihimpun, dilakukan uji prasyarat dan terbukti bahwa data yang berhasil dihimpun berdistribusi secara normal dan homogen. Rata-rata penurunan nilai kecemasan matematis yang diperoleh sebesar 3,068. Dengan melakukan uji t-dependent ditemukan bahwa pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Differentiated Instructions terbukti dapat secara signifikan menurunkan nilai kecemasan matematis siswa. Uji statistika yang dilakukan memperoleh nilai t sebesar 6,821, dengan nilai p = 0,00 < 0,05. Selanjutnya, dilakukan pula uji Anova Dua Jalur untuk melihat perbedaan penurunan kecemasan matematis antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan, serta untuk melihat perbedaan antara siswa dengan tingkat kemampuan rendah, sedang dan tinggi. Hasil uji Anova Dua Jalur ini menunjukkan bahwa penurunan nilai kecemasan matematis siswa tidak berbeda antara siswa laki-laki dan perempuan, maupun siswa dengan tingkat kecemasan rendah, sedang, atau tinggi.
