Abstract

Salah satu fungsi media adalah memberikan informasi yang sesuai kebenaran kepada masyarakat. Meskipun media massa menjunjung tinggi nilai objektivitas, namun hal tersebut merupakan sesuatu yang tidak mudah. Itu semua karena semua media pasti memiliki subjektivitas. Karena media massa itu mempunyai nilai subjektivitas yang tinggi juga, maka subjektivitas tersebut bisa tersirat dalam bentuk nada pemberitaannya mengenai suatu isu, yakni bisa berupa hal yang positif, negatif ataupun memang netral. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis dan mengetahui bagaimana subjektivitas media terhadap nada pemberitaannya mengenai berita-berita yang bersangkutan dengan pasangan Jokowi-Ahok dan pasangan Foke-Nara selaku kandidat calon Gubernur dan calon Wakil Gubernur DKI Jakarta 2012. Karena melihat peristiwa ini berlangsung di Jakarta, maka penelitian dilakukan dengan analisis kuantitatif dengan menganalisis 4 media cetak yang mempunyai pembaca tertinggi di Jakarta yaitu Kompas, Warta Kota, Berita Kota dan Poskota. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keempat surat kabar tersebut mempunyai subjektivitas yang berbeda-beda. Warta Kota dan Berita Kota memiliki berita subjektif positif dan negatif yang lebih banyak daripada berita netral. Kompas memiliki berita netral yang lebih banyak dibandingkan berita subjektif positif dan negatif serta Poskota mempunyai keseimbangan diantara keduanya namun berita-beritanya terlihat lebih condong memihak kepada pasangan Foke-Nara. / One of media’s functions is to provide information according to the truth to the public. Although the mass media upholds objectivity, but it is something that is not easy. It was all because of all the media certainly has subjectivity. Because the mass media has a high value of subjectivity as well, then subjectivity can be implied in a tone of its message about an issue, which could be positive, negative or neutral indeed. The study was conducted to analyze and figure out how to pitch the media subjectivity according to the tone of the news relevant to both Jokowi-Ahok and both Foke-Nara as potential candidates for Governor and Vice-Governor of Jakarta 2012. Due to see this event takes place in Jakarta, the research is conducted by content analysis with quantitative approach by analyzing four print media that have the highest reader in Jakarta, Kompas, Berita Kota, Warta Kota and Poskota. The results showed that the newspaper has four different subjectivity. Berita Kota and Warta Kota have more positive and negative news and more than neutral news. Kompas has a more neutral news than positive news and negative news and Poskota has a balance between the two, but the news looks more inclined to favor the couple of Foke-Nara.
