Abstract

Public Relations plays an important role in building a good reputation and relation with the publics, that was the main reason why this field had become one of the most interesting profession. The development of that field in many countries such as America, Europe, Asia and particularly in Indonesia becomes an interesting research study for Public Relations professionals and academics. One of them is due to the phenomenon of the increasing number of women in Public Relations that has been predicted since the 1950s. Woman’s majority in Public Relations which is characterized by the overwhelming number of practitioners and professionals PR and students in PR studies prompted the feminization in Public Relations profession. So, the public regard Public Relations profession is identical to women profession who are able to satisfy a-must-have skills as PR practitioners. It certainly affect viewpoints male students as a candidate of Public Relations practitioners against the majority of women. This research intended to overview the perception of Public Relations male students in Jakarta and surroundings onwomen’s majority in the Public Relations industry in Indonesia.
