Abstract

The achievement of learning objectives is very dependent on the methods applied by the teacher. The method chosen will determine the activity that students have. Therefore, teachers need to choose the method that best suits the students' conditions and the material being taught. This study aimed to determine the differences in creative thinking skills, problem solving, and mastery of students' concepts in Indonesian subjects by applying the Six Thinking Hats method and the Conventional method. This research was conducted in the 10-th graders of XYZ High School in the middle of January - May 2020, with 20 research subjects in each experimental and control class. This research was a quantitative study using the Quasy Experimental Design method. The research design used was the Matching Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Data was obtained by the test then looking for the average value and n-gain. The Mann- Whitney test was used to see the difference between the experimental and control classes. The increasing value of creative thinking skills in the experimental class was greater than the control class. / Pencapaian tujuan pembelajaran sangat bergantung pada metode yang diterapkan oleh guru. Metode yang dipilih akan menentukan aktivitas yang dimiliki siswa. Oleh karena itu, guru perlu memilih metode yang paling sesuai dengan kondisi siswa dan materi yang diajarkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kreatif, pemecahan masalah, dan penguasaan konsep siswa pada mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia dengan menerapkan metode Six Thinking Hats dan metode Konvensional. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada siswa kelas 10 SMA XYZ pada pertengahan Januari - Mei 2020, dengan 20 subjek penelitian di masing-masing kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode Quasy Experimental Design. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Matching Only Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Data diperoleh dengan tes kemudian dicari nilai rata-rata dan n-gain. Tes Mann-Whitney digunakan untuk melihat perbedaan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Peningkatan nilai keterampilan berpikir kreatif pada kelas eksperimen lebih besar dari pada kelas kontrol.
