Abstract

Learning tool is one of important factor in learning process. The development of communication technology allows students to access the information anytime and anywhere from any resource, included social media. Connective learning is one of learning approach supported by learning networking that helped the socialitation, collaboration in sharing information among the students. By using the approach, students are asked to think critically in responding information, keeping interaction and sharing information. This study aims to determine the effect of connective learning using social media as learning tool on critical thinking, collaboration skill, and learning motivation in learning chemistry. The subjects of this research are 46 students of grade VIII, IX and X of Private School XYZ. This study used quantitative approach non-experimental using path analysis. The results of this study showed that connective learning positively effect on critical thinking, collaboration and learning motivation. Beside it, the result showed that collaboration positively effect critical thinking and learning motivation. / Media pembelajaran merupakan salah satu factor penting dalam pembelajaran. Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi memungkinkan siswa untuk mengakses informasi dari sumber mana saja dan kapan saja, termasuk dengan menggunakan media sosial. Pendekatan connective learning merupakan pendekatan pembelajaran yang didukung oleh jejaring pembelajaran seperti media sosial yang memungkinkan terjadinya sosialisasi, kolaborasi dalam berbagi informasi di antara pembelajar. Dengan pendekatan pembelajaran ini, siswa diajak untuk berpikir kritis dalam menanggapi informasi, memelihara interaksi dan menyebarkan informasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh pendekatan pembelajaran connective learning dengan menggunakan media sosial sebagai media pembelajaran terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis, kolaborasi dan motivasi belajar siswa dalam belajar kimia. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 46 orang siswa kelas VIII, IX dan X Sekolah Swasta XYZ. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif non eksperimental dengan analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif antara pendekatan connective learning dengan keterampilan berpikir kritis, kolaborasi dan motivasi belajar siswa. Selain itu juga ditemukan adanya pengaruh positif antara kolaborasi dengan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan motivasi belajar siswa.
