Latar Belakang: Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan jumlah konsumsi tembakau terbanyak ke-4 di dunia. Banyak penyakit yang timbul akibat dari bahan-bahan kimia berbahaya rokok. Para ahli berusaha mengatasi resiko yang di akibatkan oleh bahan-bahan kimia berbahaya rokok dengan menciptakan suatu alat bernama rokok elektrik atau vape yang dipercaya memiliki kandungan dan mekanisme kerja yang lebih aman tanpa mengganggu sensasi merokok. Peneliti juga meyakini bahwa rokok elektrik atau vape bisa menjadi alternative berhenti merokok tembakau. Persamaan kandungan utama yang dimiliki rokok konvensional dengan rokok elektrik adalah nikotin. Oleh karena itu, pentingnya penelitian ini untuk membandingan jumlah nikotin yang dikonsumsi oleh perokok konvensional dan perokok elektrik atau vapers. Tujuan Penelitian: Mengetahui perbandingan jumlah nikotin yang digunakan oleh vapers dan perokok konvensional. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah studi analitik komparatif kategorik tidak berpasangan yang dilaksanakan dengan desain penelitian cross sectional. Sampel penelitian total berjumlah 130 orang yang terdiri dari 65 orang perokok konvensional dan 65 perokok elektrik atau vapers di Kota Bandung. Pemilihan subjek dengan Judgment Sampling. Pengambilan data berlangsung selama 1 minggu di bulan Desember 2019. Hasil data yang terkumpul akan diolah menggunakan uji statistik Chi Square dan dengan IBM Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) 25. Hasil : Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, didapatkan adanya perbedaan nilai ketergantungan nikotin antara pengguna rokok elektrik pada pengunjung Toko Vape VapeHitz Kota Bandung dan perokok konvensional di sekitar Toko Vape VapeHitz Kota Bandung yang signifikan (p<0.05)/ Background: Indonesia is one from four countries with the most tobacco consumption in the world. Many diseases arise from the harmful chemicals of cigarettes. The experts managed to overcome the risks involved with hazardous chemicals by making an instrument called an electric cigarette or vape that is believed to have a safer content and work. Researchers also believe that an electric cigarette or vape can be an alternative to quit smoking. The equation of the main content held is conventional cigarettes with electric cigarettes is nicotine. Therefore, it is important for this study to compare the amount of nicotine consumed by conventional smokers and electric smokers or vapers. Objective: To learn the comparison of the amount of nicotine used by vapers and conventional smokers. Methods: This research is an unpaired categorical comparative analytic study and conducted with a cross sectional study design. The sample of the study amounted 130 people, consist of 65 electric smokers or vapers in electric cigarette users in Bandung VapeHitz Vape Shop visitors and 65 conventional smokers around the Bandung VapeHitz Vape Shop. The subject sampling selection will use judment sampling. The data will be collected for 1 week at December 2019. The data will be collected and be processed using Chi Square statistical test and with IBM Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) 25. Results: Based on the results of the study, it was found that there was a significant difference in the value of nicotine dependence between electric cigarette users in Bandung VapeHitz Vape Shop visitors and conventional smokers around the Bandung VapeHitz Vape Shop which was significant (p <0.05).
