Abstract
At this present, we're in the globalization era, where many foreign cultures enter Indonesia. One of them is fast food. Low nutrition and high fat in fast food can lead to several problems such as high cholesterol levels, cardiovascular problems, obesity, hypertension, kidney problems, neurological problems, cancer, and dysmenorrhea. The high number of dysmenorrhea in adolescents be a concern to find causes of this incident. This research was conducted because there is still controversy about the incidence of dysmenorrhea and fast food.
This research was conducted with an observational study method with a cross-sectional design conducted to 105 female respondents. Samples were selected by non-random purposive sampling at Tarakanita Gading Serpong High School. The questionnaire used in this study was the food frequency questioner (FFQ) for fast food consumption and the WaLIDD score to assess dysmenorrhea. The data is processed using SPSS 25.
The results of data were processed using the chi-square and continuity correction test, a significant result was obtained between the frequency of fast food consumption and dysmenorrhea with a p-value <0.05, and the odds ratio 4.2. Besides that, a significant result was also obtained between the frequency of consumption fast food and degree of dysmenorrhea pain with a p-value <0.05 and an odds ratio 4.5.
