Over the past few decades, there are armed conflicts in developing countries, especially between Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Saudi Arabia began an intervention with Yemen in 2015 and has caused the conflict to escalate really quick, resulting in violations of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) and Human Rights Law (HRL). One of the factors that violate these two international laws is the result of trading in conventional weapons which is still less effective. Therefore, on April 2, 2013, some countries in the world agreed to form an international legal instrument specifically regulating the trade in conventional weapons which was later called the 2013 Arms Trade Treaty (ATT). One of the aims of the ATT was to cut human suffering which was considered to be influenced by the uncontrolled and irresponsible use of conventional weapons. Of the 28 articles in ATT, article 6 and article 7 are the main keys in seeing the success of the practice of the state to support peace and security by preventing arms eksports that could potentially violate IHL and HRL. As a country that supports and ratifies the ATT, the United Kingdom (UK) policy of continuing to send weapons to Saudi Arabia that has committed international crimes is considered as a form of help and support for violations of humanitarian law and human rights law. However, UK justifies that its policies do not contradict any law. UK considers that it has followed all the ways and rules that exist in ATT. Therefore, until now, the eksport of UK weapons to Saudi Arabia is still a matter of controversy and material debate at the international level, thus encouraging writers to analyze more deeply to find answers to these legal problems.
