Abstract
The press as a medium of information for the community, has a responsibility to provide actual, factual and objective information. There is a press owned by a private company which makes the press have an interest in the owner. The owners of the press in Indonesia in general are oligarchs, not infrequently they also enter the political world. Politics is closely related to general elections where people can make their own decision by voting for pairs of candidates who are considered capable. In order to help people choose correctly, then help from the press is crucial. The problem arose when the press provided information that favored the owners of the media who were also political elites. In the end, it is difficult for the community to determine which one is truly trustworthy. Data collection was carried out by library study techniques and by interviews. From this study, it can be proven that there has been a partisanship of the Press towards one of the candidates in the 2014 general election in Indonesia. The Press Council, the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission, media workers and the public have an important role in eradicating media partisanship.
