Latar Belakang: Body Image adalah cara pandang, pemikiran dan perasaan seseorang terhadap bentuk fisiknya sendiri dan merupakan hasil persepsi yang dapat berpengaruh positif maupun negatif terhadap orang tersebut. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) seseorang, semakin buruk Body Image orang tersebut, namun penelitian seperti ini belum banyak dilakukan di Indonesia, terutama di Fakultas Kedokteran. Tujuan: Mengetahui hubungan antara IMT dengan Body Image pada mahasiswa dan mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan angkatan 2017. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini merupakan studi potong lintang (cross- sectional) dengan teknik purposive sampling untuk mengambil sampel yang merupakan mahasiswa dan mahasiswi Fakutas Kedokteran UPH 2017 dengan usia di atas 20 tahun. Pengambilan sampel telah dilakukan pada Januari-Februari 2020. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan mengukur tinggi dan berat responden, kemudian dilakukan perhitungan Indeks Massa Tubuh dan responden juga mengisi kuesioner Body Shape Questionnaire-34 (BSQ-34). Data yang didapat dianalasis dengan Chi-square menggunakan IBM SPSS versi 26.0 Hasil Penelitian: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara jenis kelamin dengan Body Image (p-value: 0.002, Odds Ratio: 4.128) namun tidak terdapat hubungan antara IMT dengan Body Image (p-value: 0.087, Odds Ratio: 2.363). Simpulan: Terdapat hubungan antara jenis kelamin dengan Body Image namun tidak terdapat hubungan antara IMT dengan Body Image. / Background: Body Image is the way someone see, thinks and feels about their own body shape and it was the result of their own perception that can affect them positively or negatively. Some studies said that the higher the Body Mass Index (BMI), the lower the Body Image is, but there are only a few studies about this in Indonesia, especially amongst Faculty of Medicine. Objective: To know the relation between BMI with Body Image in Male and Female Medical Student of Pelita Harapan University Batch 2017. Method: This research is a cross-sectional study with purposive sampling technique to obtain respondents. Samples were college students of Pelita Harapan University batch 2017 aged more than 20 years-old. Data were taken by measuring their body height and weight, calculating their BMI and through Body Shape Questionnaire-34 (BSQ-34). Samples were taken in January-February 2020. Data were analyzed using Chi-square method using IBM SPSS version 26.0. Result: There are significant relation between gender and Body Image (p- value:0.002, Odds Ratio: 4.128) but there are no relation between BMI and Body Image amongst the respondents (p-value: 0.087, Odds Ratio: 2.363). Conclusion: There are significant relation between gender and Body image but there are no Relation between BMI and Body Image amongst the respondents.
