General election is a form of implementation of sovereignty which is in the hands of the people. The people’s sovereignty has a meaning that comes from the Law used for the 2019 general election. It concerns about the people’s sovereignty, responsibility, rights and obligations to democratically elect the leaders who form the government to manage and serve all levels of society, as well as elect people's representatives to oversee the running of the government. Based on that, the people have a moral to elect the leader of the state and elect the people's representatives for 1 (one) period. According to that, an arrangement for the right to vote for the people is made as a requirement in using the voting rights in elections. In this research, the writer used normative research methods of primary data and secondary data consisting of 3 legal materials (primary, secondary, and tertiary legal materials). The approach used in this research is the legal systematic approach or the statute approach. The regulation of the people’s voting rights in elections has been regulated on the Law 7/1953 until Law 7/2017 which on the requirements that the people have to fulfill before they give their voting rights. The writer not only looked at the Law 7/2017, but also looked at the laws that have been applied in the General Elections that are related to voting rights. After the author described the regulations of voting rights, the writer took a theoretical approach which is the Theory of Dignified Justice to see that the implementation of voting rights in Indonesia has already humanized humans or not.
