Acts of terorism continue to develop and causing legal problems therefore the government decides to reform the former anti-terorsim act. Following the terorist attack that took place in Jakarta in 2016, the government started an effort to reform anti-terorism act in order to reconcile the legislations with the current development of terorism. After 2 years of progress, the new legislations regarding anti-terorism act is finally approved by the legislative. The new legislation expands the period of time for the arrest and detention of suspected perpetrator of criminal act of terrorism. The expansion of the period time for arrest and detention is based on consideration that terorism is developing and has complex network, causing it more difficult for the investigator to expose the whole network and track down anyone who involved inside a terrorist network. The development of terrorism also changes their basic motif. Their motive was to avenge and to deliver messages of resistance and then it shifted, their motive is now to form a religious states based on radical ideology.
