Abstract
Fenomena online shopping dalam dunia internet sedang popular di
masyarakat dunia terutama di Indonesia. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari munculnya
media baru yang menawarkan barang dan jasa secara online. Kaskus merupakan
media baru berbentuk sosial media dimana di dalamnya terdapat interaksi online
shopping. Interaksi tersebut dapat dilihat dengan penggunaan istilah, simbol, dan
emoticon.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pola interaksi dengan menggunakan
teori interaksi simbolik, apakah interaksi yang terjadi antar pengguna kaskus
menggunakan simbol-simbol untuk mencapai kesamaan makna. Selain itu, apakah
dalam setiap penggunaan kaskus memiliki cara yang sama dalam berinteraksi.
Hasil penelitian dapat dinyatakan bahwa pola interaksi yang terjadi dari
setiap pengguna kaskus banyak yang yang termotivasi untuk menggunakan istilah,
symbol, dan emoticon. Motivasi tersebut dapat dilihat berdasarkan tiga sentral
dalam teori interaksi simbolik, yaitu Pentingnya makna bagi prilaku manusia,
pentingnya konsep mengenai diri, dan hubungan antara individu dengan
masyarakat. / The phenomenon of online shopping in the internet are popular in the
world, especially in Indonesia. This can be seen from the emergence of new media
that offer a product and services with online. Kaskus is a new media form of
social media in which there are interactions in which online shopping. Such
interactions can be seen with the use of terms, symbols, and emoticons.
This study aims to look at patterns of interaction by using the theory of
symbolic interaction, whether the interactions that occur between users kaskus use
symbols to achieve a similarity of meaning. Moreover, if any use of kaskus have
the same way in their interaction.
The results can be stated that the pattern of interactions that occur from
any user of kaskus who are motivated to use the term, symbol, and emoticons.
Motivation can be seen on three central in symbolic interaction theory, namely the
importance of meaning for human behavior, the importance of the concept of self,
and relationships between individuals and society.
