PT Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology is engaged in palm oil industry. The aim of this research is to know the relationship between innovation and competitive advantage in sales because the company has been successfully turning their innovative ideas into one of their core competencies. To give more information regarding the innovation in palm oil company, the writer chose entrepreneurship as the basic start of the research topic, linking innovation with competitive advantage and its relationship. The purpose of this research is to reveal and analyze the work of innovation in affecting their competitive advantage at PT Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology. The research is done with qualitative approach by conducting interviews with the employees of the company. The analysis method used is descriptive analysis method with its steps starting from data reduction, data display until conclusion drawing. Upon completion of analysis, it is revealed that in common sense, innovation has influenced the achievement of competitive advantage. With innovation as the problem solver, sales can be increased higher by lowering the cost and increasing the quality. But instead, the corporate social responsibility was found to be another source in fulfilling the goal of the company due to the nature exploitation cause. The discoveries exhibit important experiences that are required to profit a few gatherings in term of both theoretical and practical settings. Theoretically, the research provides preliminary findings for future research within the same topic. Practically, it can encourage the business to emphasize more innovation culture and quality improvement for the other companies as well.
