Abstract

Entrepreneurship is a vital force to the development of a country’s economy. Entrepreneurs increase the employment opportunities for the society and as the source of new creation toward innovation, technology, etc. Entrepreneurial intention plays a crucial role in the decision to start a new firm (become an entrepreneur). The interest of college graduates in entrepreneurship has traditionally been low. There are barriers toward entrepreneurial intention, such as fund, social factors and family factors. This study is an attempt to investigate the impact of entrepreneurial barriers toward entrepreneurial intention of Business School student at UPH Medan. The questionnaires are distributed to 102 respondents who are the Entrepreneurship students at UPH Medan and the tests used for this research are validity test with both variables result are valid with rcount > rtable (0.194), reliability test of both variables are reliable 0,885 and 0, 803, normality test result of both variables are normally distributed with the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.420, the coefficient correlation test between variables are 0.006, while the determination correlation test result is 0%, and linear regression test result is 0.004, hypothesis result of this research is, entrepreneurial barriers do not have impact on entrepreneurial intention of Business School students at UPH Medan.
