Pursuant to Article 1 number 2 of the Child Protection Law, protection towards children is every activity to ensure and protect in order to live, grow, develop and participate optimally according to the human dignity, as well as receiving protection from violence and discrimination. The existence of child labor within jobs which endanger child health, safety or morality in Indonesia gives rise to an obligation for the state to provide protection for child labor, therefore, the government has decided type of jobs which endangers child health, safety or morality through Minister of Manpower and Transmigration Decision Number 235/Men/2003. Based on the said matter this research discusses regarding child protection which is laid out within the said Ministerial Decision as well as the government’s role in implementing the said Ministerial Decision, by using the normative research method and also referring to Ministerial Decision Number 235/men/2003.
