Abstract
Disiplin menjadi problema pendidikan. Ketika melakukan praktik mengajar penulis menemukan kurangnya disiplin siswa kelas 10. Anak didik yang menginjak masa remaja juga perlu dibina untuk memiliki disiplin, sebab mereka berada pada masa yang rentan terhadap penyimpangan. Guru Kristen memiliki signifikansi dalam pembentukan disiplin siswa. Melalui perannya sebagai gembala guru Kristen mendisiplinkan siswa sesuai dengan prinsip Alkitab. Maka, dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, tujuan penulisan ini adalah untuk memaparkan peran guru Kristen dalam mendisiplinkan siswa. Guru Kristen sebagai gembala berarti ia adalah pribadi yang menuntun, membimbing dan mengarahkan siswa kepada kebenaran dan mengalami pertumbuhan semakin serupa Kristus. Pendisiplinan berdasarkan wawasan Kristen Alkitabiah tidak terlepas dari prinsip adanya konsekuensi dan konsistensi. Seorang gembala menggunakan gada dan tongkat untuk melindungi sekaligus mendisiplinkan dombanya secara konsisten. Namun disiplin bukanlah hukuman yang mengakibatkan kepahitan, tetapi harus berlandaskan kasih dan membawa siswa mengalami pertumbuhan sebagai murid Kristus. Dengan demikian kesimpulan yang didapatkan penulis adalah peran guru sebagai gembala dalam mendisiplinkan siswa adalah dengan menuntun, membimbing, mengarahkan juga memberikan konsekuensi berlandaskan kasih yang mana semua di lakukan dengan adanya konsistensi. Maka, saran bagi para pendidik Kristen haruslah memahami perannya sebagai gembala berdasarkan prinsip Alkitabiah dan menerapkan disiplin berlandaskan kasih dengan memandang siswa sebagai gambar rupa Allah./Discipline becomes an educational problem. When practicing teaching, the writer found a lack of discipline among 10th-grade students. Students who are teenagers also need to be nurtured to have discipline, because they are at a time that is prone to deviations. Christian teachers have significance in shaping student discipline. Through his role as the Christian teacher shepherd disciplines students according to Bible principles. So, using descriptive qualitative methods, the purpose of this paper is to describe the role of Christian teachers in disciplining students. The Christian teacher as a shepherd means that he is the one who guides, guides, and directs students to the truth and experiences Christ-like growth more and more. Discipline-based on biblical Christian insight is inseparable from the principle of consequence and consistency. A shepherd uses a club and a staff to consistently protect and discipline his sheep. Yet discipline is not a punishment that results in bitterness, but must be based on love and lead students to experience growth as disciples of Christ. Thus the conclusion obtained by the author is that the role of the teacher as a shepherd in disciplining students is to guide, guide, direct also give consequences based on love which all is done with consistency. Thus, the suggestion for Christian educators is to understand his role as a shepherd based on biblical principles and apply discipline-based on love by viewing students as the image of God.
