Abstract
Latar Belakang: Kecanduan video game adalah gangguan yang memiliki berbagai dampak buruk terhadap suatu individu, salah satunya adalah kecemasan sosial. Kurangnya interaksi sosial, keterampilan sosial, dan perilaku prososial dapat menjadi penyebab kecemasan sosial pada individu dengan kecanduan video game.
Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi antara kecanduan video game dengan kecemasan sosial di lingkungan sekolah menengah atas yang bertempat di Jakarta.
Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis komparatif kategorik tidak berpasangan, dengan jumlah sampel 56 siswa SMA X bertempat di Jakarta yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi dari studi ini. Responden mengisi kuesioner IGDS9-SF dan LSAS-SR untuk menilai adiksi video game dan kecemasan sosial. Hasil penelitian ini diolah dengan analisis uji Chi-Square melalui program SPSS v.23.
Hasil Penelitian: Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara video game addiction dengan kecemasan sosial (p-value 0,038; Odds Ratio 4,143).
Kesimpulan: Video Game Addiction pada murid di SMA X Jakarta berhubungan dengan kecemasan sosial / Background: Video game addiction is an emerging medical disorder that has a variety of negative consequences to the individual, one of which is social anxiety. In individuals who are addicted to video games, a lack of social interaction, social skills, and lack of prosocial behaviors can lead to social anxiety.
Aim: To find the relationship between video game addiction and social anxiety among high school students in Jakarta.
Method: This is an unpaired, categorical analytical comparative study with a cross-sectional study design with a sample size of 56 high school students currently living and studying SMA X in Jakarta who fulfills the inclusion and exclusion criteria of this study. Participants completed the IGDS9-SF and LSAS-SR questionnaires to assess video game addiction and social anxiety respectively. Data was processed using Chi-Square analysis through the SPSS v.23 program.
Result: This study shows a significant association between video game addiction and social anxiety (p-value 0,038; Odds Ratio 4,143).
Conclusion: Video game addiction among high school students in Jakarta is associated with social anxiety.
