Abstract

Latar Belakang: Penyakit Paru Obstruktif Kronik merupakan penyebab kematian keempat didunia dengan morbiditas dan mortalitas yang tinggi. Menurut The Asia Pacific COPD Round Table Group menunjukkan prevalensi PPOK di Indonesia sebesar 5,6%. Indeks Massa Tubuh merupakan metrik yang digunakan untuk melihat berbagai faktor risiko penyakit karena memiliki hubungan dengan mortalitas. Kualitas hidup pasien PPOK ditentukan dengan mengukur gejala-gejala yang muncul pada aktivitas keseharian pasien. Indeks Massa Tubuh juga mempengaruhi kualitas hidup pada pasien. Beberapa penelitian telah menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara IMT terhadap kualitas hidup PPOK. Tujuan Penelitian: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara IMT dengan kualitas hidup pasien PPOK stabil. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi potong lintang. Populasi sampel penelitian ini adalah pasien PPOK di poliklinik paru Rumah Sakit Siloam gedung A, data diambil dengan mengukur IMT pasien dan mengisi kuesioner CAT. Data sampel diperoleh dengan metode konsekutif, dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 62. Data yang diperoleh akan diolah dengan uji chi-square. Kata Kunci: Indeks Massa Tubuh, Penyakit Paru Obstruktif Kronik, kualitas hidup/ Background: Body Mass Index (BMI) is a value that is used to measure risk factor for various health problems all over the world. BMI value can be obtained by weight (kg) over height (m) squared with. Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a preventable and controllable disease, marked by the presence of chronic bronchitis, chronic inflammation that cause bronchial obstruction. One of the factors contributing to the start of the cascade includes exposure to harmful gas particles or chemicals. COPD is the 4th leading cause of death in the world, with prevalence rate of 5.6% in Indonesia. In COPD patients, quality of life can be measured using a questionnaire such as CAT. CAT assessing the impact of COPD including activity limitation, cough, sputum, dyspnea, and chest tightness. Aim: To identify association between BMI and quality of life in COPD patients. Method: A consecutive sampling is used in this cross-sectional survey. COPD patients of pulmonology clinic at Rumah Sakit Siloam is the target population in this survey, with a total of 62 sampels. Data collection will be done by measuring BMI and interviewed with a questionnaire. Data analysis will be done using chi-square.
