Abstract

Latar belakang: Air susu ibu (ASI) merupakan sumber nutrisi terbaik untuk bayi. Penting untuk mengetahui hubungan status sosial ekonomi orang tua dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif agar ditemukan kesimpulan yang dapat membantu mengoptimalkan praktiknya terhadap anak. Saat ini belum terdapat studi dengan topik tersebut di Tangerang. Tujuan: Penelitian ini melihat hubungan antara status sosial ekonomi orang tua dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif pada anak di Karawaci. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini bersifat potong lintang yang dilakukan pada orang tua yang memiliki anak berusia 6 - 24 bulan. Data yang dibutuhkan dikumpulkan melalui informasi dalam lembar Data Diri Peserta. Analisis menggunakan program SPSS dengan uji Fisher's Exact. Hasil: Penelitian menemukan 39 dari 41 responden melakukan pemberian ASI eksklusif. Dari seluruh ibu yang memberikan ASI eksklusif, 71,79% berpendidikan tinggi, 71,79% memiliki pendapatan keluarga tinggi, dan 79,5% tidak bekerja. Tidak ada hubungan yang signifikan antara variabel-variabel tersebut dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif (p = 0,999 > 0,05). Hasil tetap menunjukkan hubungan yang tidak signifikan setelah disesuaikan dengan faktor perancu. Kesimpulan: Variabel status sosial ekonomi dalam studi ini yaitu pendidikan ibu, pendapatan keluarga, dan pekerjaan ibu, tidak memiliki hubungan yang signifikan dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat menjadi preliminary study bagi penelitian dengan topik serupa ke depannya. It is important to determine the association between parental socioeconomic status and exclusive breastfeeding in order to infer the best approach to optimize its practices. There is currently no study on said topic in Tangerang. Objective: This study investigates the relationship between parental socioeconomic status and exclusive breastfeeding practices in Karawaci. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study on parents with children aged 6 - 24 months. Relevant data is collected through information on the Respondent Identity Sheet. Data analysis will be through SPSS program, with Fisher's Exact test. Results: This study found 39 out of 41 samples practiced exclusive breastfeeding Out of all exclusive breastfeeding mothers, 71,79% have had high education, 71,79% have high family income, and 79,5% do not work. There is no significant relationship between these variables and mothers’ exclusive breastfeeding practices (p = 0,999 > 0,05). Adjustments with confounding factors did not affect the results. Conslusion: The variables for socioeconomic status in this study which are mother's education, family income, and mother's occupation, showed no significant relationship with exclusive breasfeeding towards child in Karawaci.
