Abstract

Kata Kunci: NLCR • Demam Dengue • Demam Berdarah Dengue • Anak / Background: Dengue virus infection is one of the most important type of infection because it has become a worldwide health issue, especially in trpic and subtropic countries. Children age 5 – 14 years old are mostly affected by this Dengue infection. They hold the greatest propotion out of the infected. Blood tests for leucocyte, platelets, and hematocrit are required in aiding the diagnosis of Dengue Infection. These blood components plays a significant role on how the infection progresses. Nrutrophil-Lymphocyte Count Ratio is considered to be a quick diagnostic marker for Dengue Fever and Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, which can help health care providers to diagnose these infection more quickly and accurately and giving the appropriate treatment for the infected patient. Objective: To know whether there is a difference in the Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Count Ratio for Dengue Fever and Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever. Hypothesis: There is a difference in Neutophil-Lymphocyte Count Ratio for Dengue Fever and Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (the Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Count Ratio in Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever is lower than the Ratio in Dengue Fever) Methods: This research uses a comparative study method with a cross-sectional design of 46 patients between the age of 5 – 14 years old that are hospitalized in Siloam Hospital Lippo Village . Samples and taken by Purposive sampling and only those that meet the inclusion criteria are taken, however those who fall on the exclusion criteria are excluded Keywords: NLCR • Dengue Fever • Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever • Children
