Abstract

Mahasiswa menjadi target audience yang penting untuk para pelaku kampanye. Pasalnya peran mahasiswa dalam sejarah perubahan Indonesia sangatlah besar. Dan peran mahasiswa saat ini dalam pemerintahan bisa dikatakan sebagai pengawas pemerintah untuk terus menjalankan amanat para rakyat. Sehingga dengan menjadi pemimpin yang sesuai dengan keinginan mahasiswa akan berpengaruh terhadap kepemimpinan calon tersebut kelak Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk mengetahui faktor apa saja yang dimiliki seorang mahasiswa dalam memilih presiden serta rute pengambilan keputusan apa yang dimiliki oleh para mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kasus dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara, dimana peneliti mewawancara lima belas mahasiswa dari lima universitas di Jabodetabek. Dan dari hasil yang didapatkan munculah sebuah kesimpulan yaitu: para responden paling banyak memiliki peripheral route dalam mengambil keputusan dan faktor utama yang menjadi pilihan responden untuk calon presiden adalah penampilan fisik seorang calon. / University students are an important target audience for political practitioners. This is because university students have historically over looked the Indonesian to ensure the government keeps its promises to the publics. Therefore fulfilling the university students expectations can influence their leadership in the future. This research is conducted to understand the factors that affect the decision making process of university students in JABODETABEK when voting for president: Elaboration Likelihood Model. This research uses qualitative study case through interviews with students from five universities in JABODETABEK area. In conclusion the most respondents go through a peripheral route when makin a decision and the main factor of the university students when voting for president is the physical appearance of a candidate.
