Abstract

Latar belakang : Stres adalah keadaan ketegangan fisiologis atau psikologis akibat stimulus (internal maupun eksternal) yang merugikan, baik stimulus fisis, mental, ataupun emosional, yang cenderung mengganggu fungsi organisme dan sesungguhnya ingin dihindari oleh organisme tersebut. Mahasiswa sebagai agent of change, telah dipersiapkan menjadi penerus bangsa yang akan melakukan perubahan pada lingkungan maupun untuk dirinya sendiri yang bertujuan untuk memajukan bangsa dan negara kelak di masa depan. Stres di lingkungan mahasiswa kedokteran dapat merugikan kesehatan dan kinerja akademik mereka. Tujuan : Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan tingkat stres pada mahasiswa tingkat I dengan tingkat III di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. Metode Penelitian : Penelitian ini akan dilakukan dengan desain studi crosssectional. Jumlah sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu 170 orang mahasiswa yang diambil dengan metode convenience sampling dengan alat ukur berupa kuesioner. Sampel yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi penelitian ini akan diolah dengan analisis Chi - square menggunakan SPSS versi 22.0. Hasil : Pada penelitian ini didapatkan mahasiswa tingkat I mengalami stres ringan (12.5%), stres sedang (32.5%), stres berat (47.5%) dan stres sangat berat (7.5%). Tingkat III didapatkan stres ringan (26.7%), stres sedang (50%), stres berat (17.8%) dan stres sangat berat (5.6%). Berdasarkan analisis bivariat dengan uji Chi-square didapatkan perbedaan bermakna dengan nilai p-value = 0.000 (p-value < 0.05) Kesimpulan : Terdapat perbedaan bermakna antara tingkat stres mahasiswa tingkat I dengan tingkat III Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Pelita Harapan. / Background : A state of physiological or psychological strain caused by adverse stimuli, physical, mental, or emotional, internal or external, that tend to disturb the functioning of an organism and which the organism naturally desires to avoid. College students, as an agent of change, have been prepared as future leader that will make changer to their environment and themselves for the progression of society. Stress has the potential to be harmful to the health & productivity of medical student. Aim : Understand the difference in stress between first and third year medical students in Universitas Pelita Harapan. Methods : This is a cross-sectional study with a sample size of 170 college students selected through continue sampling with questionnaire. Data from sample that fulfill inclusion and exclusion criteria will be proceed with Chi-square analysis using SPSS 22.0 version program. Result : In this study, the first year students obtained mild stress (12.5%), moderate stress (32.5%), high stress (47.5%), and severe stress (7,5%). The third year students obtained mild stress (26.7%), moderate stress ( 50%), high stress (17.8%) and severe stress (5.6%). Based on bivariate analysis with Chi-square test obtained significant differences with p-value = 0,000 (p-value <0.05). Conclusion : There was a significant difference of stress level in the first and third year students in Medicine Faculty of Pelita Harapan University.
