Abstract
Motivation is a desire or purpose which energizes or pushes a person to act toward an end. In the education context, students will have a willingness to learn, if the students have a motivation for learning. In other words, students will not be willing to learn, if the students have a lack of motivation. Moreover, students might be willing to learn because they set mastering concepts and skills as their final purpose or motivation. Meanwhile, in Christian education, mastering concepts and skills are actions of attaining another end, which is to apply all concepts and skills to serve other people. Teachers have a responsibility to guide and to direct students’ motivation so that they set their purpose of learning according to Biblical principles or values. Therefore, the writer promotes the Fourfold End Concept which gives an understanding that each desire, motivation, or purpose is embedded to other ends. This concept is implemented in the online classroom for grade 8-9 during six weeks of practicum. Based on the literature review, the writer concludes that the Fourfold End Concept may give beneficial impacts on Christian teachers and the students.
