Abstract

Teaching techniques are beneficial to create a positive learning environment. It is hoped that teachers are not only striving the spirit of excellence without having the ability to communicate the necessary skills and concepts in a way that students can understand. The aim of this study are to describe the available techniques that are visible and applicable to be done in the English Literature online class and to what extent those techniques help secondary students learn English. This paper used a descriptive qualitative method and literature review. God designs humans consist of spiritual and material aspects. Thus, Christian teachers expected to utilize appropriate teaching techniques in cultivating their students' head, heart, and hand holistically. Two out of eight techniques are less optimal when implemented in the online classroom context. Currently, teachers and educational service providers are challenged to be creative and flexible in facing unpredictable changing contexts while still in His path. For Christian holistic education is always directs the students to God. For further research, the researcher recommended to dig deeper significant teaching techniques in the online context and classify it to be beneficial and bring blessings for the future.
