Abstract

ABSTRAK Leonardo Valentino (01071170183) HUBUNGAN PEMAKAIAN PANTYLINERS TERHADAP INSIDENSI KEPUTIHAN PADA MAHASISWI FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS PELITA HARAPAN TINGKAT PRE-KLINIK (xv + 56 halaman: 3 bagan; 4 tabel; 5 lampiran) Latar belakang : Pantyliners, yaitu bantalan pelindung sanitizer tipis yang digunakan untuk menghindari pembasahan pada area genitalia para wanita usia produktif, dipercaya menjadi salah satu faktor penyebab keputihan. Keputihan merupakan kondisi keluarnya cairan yang bukan darah dari genitalia. Insidensi keputihan yang cukup banyak terjadi di dunia, khususnya di Indonesia, dapat menyebabkan komplikasi seperti infeksi saluran kemih hingga Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. Tidak menggunakan pantyliners dipercaya dapat menurunkan resiko insidensi keputihan. Tujuan : Mengetahui apakah ada hubungan antara pemakaian pantyliners terhadap insidensi keputihan pada mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran UPH. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi potong lintang yang dilakukan pada 126 mahasiswi Fakultas Kedokteran UPH secara konsekutif. Pemakaian pantyliners dinilai dengan kuesioner sikap dan perilaku dalam kebersihan genitalia, sedangkan untuk keputihan di nilai menggunakan kuesioner kejadian keputihan. Analisis Chi square digunakan untuk mengukur signifikansi hubungan (p value) antara kedua variabel ini. Hasil : Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pemakaian pantyliners terhadap insidensi keputihan (p= 0,291, OR = 0,511). Kesimpulan : Tidak terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pemakaian pantyliners dengan insidensi keputihan pada mahasiswi di Fakultas Kedokteran UPH. Dikarenakan adanya faktor confounding yang dapat mempengaruhi kejadian keputihan. Persentase yang mengalami keputihan patologis pada kelompok yang tidak memakai pantyliners lebih rendah di bandingkan yang mengal ami keputihan patologis pada kelompok yang memakai pantyliners. Apabila tidak memakai pantyliners, merupakan faktor protektif sehinggga mencegah terjadinya keputihan. Pantyliners are believed to be one of the factors causing vaginal discharge due to improper use of pantyliners so that the vagina becomes more moist. Leucorrhoea is fluid from genitalia other than blood. Leucorrhoea is quite common worldwide, especially in Indonesia. Leucorrhoea could cause complications such as urinary tract infections to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. Rare usage of pantyliners could reduce risk of vaginal discharge. Aim: To know whether there is a relationship between the use of pantyliners and the incidence of vaginal discharge in female students of Faculty of Medicine UPH. Methods: This study uses cross-sectional study design with 126 female student chosen by consecutive method. Use of pantyliners was assessed by attitude and behavior questionnaires in genital hygiene. Vaginal discharge was assessed by questionnaire for insidence of vaginal discharge. Chi-square analysis is used to measure the relationship significance (p value) between these two variables. Results: There is no significant relationship between pantyliners use and vaginal discharge incidence (p = 0.291, OR = 0,511). Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between pantyliners use and vaginal discharge incidence in UPH Faculty of Medicine.
