Abstract

Presentasi diri sangat penting bagi kelangsungan interaksi dalam sebuah komunikasi. Facebook, adalah media sosial berisi banyak fitur yang menunjang pemilik akunnya mempresentasikan dirinya di dunia maya dengan sangat baik. Untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses presentasi diri yang berlangsung di dunia maya maka di perlukan penelitian mengenai analisa proses presentasi diri ini. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara observasi. Di sini peneliti melakukan observasi selama tiga bulan dengan objek beberapa pengajar yang memiliki akun Facebook, dengan metode penelitian fenomenologi dan pendekatan kualitatif. Observasi dilakukan selama 30 hari, setelah data di dapatkan. Guna memperoleh data pendukung dilakukan kembali konfirmasi kepada objek yang bersangkutan dengan wawancara. Dari hasil penelitian di sini peneliti menemukan bahwa para pengajar di SMAN 3 Kab. Tangerang melakukan presentasi diri di media sosial Facebook dengan berbagai macam cara dengan fitur yang berbeda pula, segala hal yang mereka presentasikan belum tentu mutlak benar apa adanya, karena tidak setiap siswa ataupun kerabat mereka menangkap hal yang sama dengan apa yang para pengajar tersebut ingin mereka capai. / Self-presentation is essential in communication process. Facebook, is a social media contains a lot of features that support the owner to present their selves very well. To find out how the process of the self-presentation that happened in a virtual world it need an analysis of the self-presentation process research. Within three months researchers collecting data with an observation method. The object is some of teachers who have Facebook accounts. To obtain supporting data researchers did some re-confirmation with the interview. From the results of the study, researchers found that those teacher who has been become an object presenting themselves on the Facebook in a various ways and with different features too. But we should note that everything presented in their account is not necessarily what it is absolutely true, because not a every student or their relatives caught the same meaning with the what those teachers want to achieve.
