Film sebagai salah satu bentuk komunikasi massa digunakan dalam masyarakat luas untuk mencapai tujuan bersama. Keberadaannya dinilai cukup memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap upaya penyampaian pesan terutama menyangkut isu-isu yang berkaitan dengan budaya dan gender serta manifestasinya dalam konteks feminisme dan gaya genderlect. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis representasi perempuan dalam film Mulan (live-action) yang rilis pada tahun 2020. Dengan memakai pendekatan interpretif dan analisis isi kualitatif, penelitian ini berusaha memaknai representasi perempuan menggunakan semiotika Roland Barthes berdasarkan hasil analisa potongan scene. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa representasi perempuan dalam film ini menampilkan karakter perempuan yang berani bertindak, mampu mendobrak tradisi, berhasil meninggikan derajat keluarga serta meyakinkan keunggulan dalam tubuh perempuan./Film as a form of mass communication are used in the wider community to achieve common goals. Its existence is considered sufficient to have a significant influence on efforts to convey messages, especially regarding issues related to culture and gender as well as its manifestations in the context of feminism and genderlect style. This study aims to analyze the representation of women in the film Mulan (live-action) released in 2020. By using an interpretive approach and qualitative content analysis, this study seeks to interpret women's representations using Roland Barthes' semiotics based on the results of the analysis of scene cuts. The results of the research prove that the representation of women in this film presents a female character who has the courage to act, is able to break tradition, has succeeded in exalting the family's status and convincing excellence in women's bodies.
