Abstract

Proses komunikasi merupakan sesuatu yang tidak mudah, terlebih lagi bagi penyandang tunarungu. Sehingga kaum tunarungu perlu penanganan khusus supaya bisa berkomunikasi, sehingga pemerintah menyediakan pendidikan khusus bagi kaum tunarungu. Jika dilihat dari prosesnya komunikasi sama dengan proses pendidikan hanya saja pendidikan memiliki tujuan yang spesifik yaitu pemahaman pada suatu hal sehingga prosesnya paling tidak efektif (Effendy, 2019) Proses komunikasi dikatakan efektif apabila terdapat kesamaan makna antar komunikan dan komunikatornya. Selain itu mengacu dari interaksi simbolik dimana seseorang membutuhkan interaksi dengan individu lain dalam memahami suatu hal dan prosesnya tidak serta merta (West & Turner, 2008) sehingga proses komunikasi efektif bagi siswa tunarungu sangat penting. Sekolah Dasar SKH YKDW 02 Tangerang merupakan sekolah khusus bagi penyandang tunarungu, proses komunikasi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran menjadi sesuatu yang vital, selama masa pandemic kegiatan pembelajaran harus dilaksanakan secara daring. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan secara kualitatif dan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara proses komunikasi dalam kegiatan mengajar mengalami kesulitan. Hambatan dalam proses komunikasi menjadi lebih banyak dan proses komunikasi menjadi kurang efektif bagi sebagian siswa tunarungu. Guru menggunakan komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal dan menggunakan beberapa metode untuk mencapai komunikasi yang efektif/The communication process is something that is not easy, especially for people who are deaf. So that the deaf need special handling so they can communicate, so the government provides special education for the deaf. When viewed from the process, communication is the same as the educational process, only education has a specific purpose, understanding about something so that the process is the least effective (Effendy, 2019) The communication process is said to be effective if there are similarities in meaning between the communicant and the communicator. In addition, it refers to symbolic interactions theory where a person needs interaction with other individuals to understand something and the process is not automatic (West & Turner, 2008) so that the effective communication process for deaf students is very important. SKH YKDW 02 Tangerang Elementary School is a special school for deaf people, the communication process in learning activities is vital, during the pandemic period learning activities must be carried out online. Based on the results of research conducted qualitatively and data collection through interviews, the communication process in teaching activities experienced difficulties. There are more obstacles in the communication process and the communication process becomes less effective for some deaf students. The teacher uses verbal and nonverbal communication and uses several methods to achieve effective communication
