Abstract

Media massa online saat ini menjadi pilihan masyarakat dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi. Akses yang cepat membuat media online unggul dalam di masyarakat. Media massa berusaha menyajikan berita yang bersifat objektif namun karena beberapa faktor, penulis berita atau wartawan juga dapat mempengaruhi pengambilan keputusan. Sehingga hasil akhirnya adalah media massa tidak dapat sepenuhnya bersifat objektif. Kasus Hari Suwandi cepat menyebar pada saat itu, karena menyangkut kasus lumpur Lapindo yang bertahun-tahun belum juga selesai. Hari menuntut Bakrie dan Pemerintah agar cepat menyelesaikan ganti rugi kepada warga Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pembingkaian berita mengenai aksi jalan kaki korban lumpur Lapindo Hari Suwandi oleh media online Kompas.com dan Detik.com periode Juni – Juli 2012. Kemudian, perbedaan yang timbul diteliti dengan menggunakan analisis framing model Zhongdan Pan & Gerald M. Kosicki. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kompas.com dan Detik.com memiliki perbedaan framing dalam memberitakan aksi jalan kaki Hari Suwandi korban lumpur Lapindo. Dimana Kompas.com cenderung tidak memihak siapapun dalam memberitakan Hari Suwandi, sedangkan Detik.com cenderung memihak Hari Suwandi dalam aksinya / In order to gain information, modern society depends on online mass media. Its rapid access makes it popular among today’s generation. Although online mass media is seemingly tries to deliver objective information, its writers can also influence people’s perspectives and decisions. The Hari Suwandi case regarding the perpetual Lapindo catastrophe went viral at the time. Suwandi sued both Bakrie and the Government to demand the compensation for the unfortunate people of Sidoarjo affected by the catastrophe. The objective of this research is to find out the differences in the news framing of the Hari Suwandi Lapindo march covered by Kompas.com and Detik.com between the period of June – July 2012. The differences that occur are then analyzed by the framing analysis of Zhongdan Pan & Gerald M. Kosicki. The result of this research shows that Kompas.com and Detik.com possess different framing of the Lapindo news delivery. Kompas.com appears to be impartial whereas Detik.com tends to takes Suwandi’s side.
