Abstract

Setiap manusia di muka bumi ini tidak ada yang tidak berkomunikasi, begitupun dengan seorang anak penderita cerebral palsy, Jelita, yang ditampung oleh Yayasan Sayap Ibu Bintaro. Penderita cerebral palsy, seperti Jelita, merupakan anak yang mengalami gangguan dalam proses komunikasinya. Oleh karena itu, Jelita membutuhkan bantuan seorang perawat untuk membantunya dalam berkomunikasi. Fakta inilah yang dapat diambil oleh peneliti untuk menggambarkan interaksi komunikasi antarpribadi yang terjadi di antara anak cerebral palsy dan perawat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan mengambil teknik pengumpulan data pengamatan dan wawancara mendalam. Melalui kedua pengambilan data tersebut ditemukan empat kategori, yaitu bagaimana Jelita mengirim pesan kepada perawat; bagaimana perawat menginterpretasikan pesan Jelita; bagaimana perawat mengirimkan pesan kepada Jelita; dan bagaimana Jelita menginterpretasikan pesan perawat. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa interaksi komunikasi antarpribadi yang terjalin di antara Jelita dan perawatnya mengalami gangguan. Komunikasi mereka tidak seperti komunikasi pada orang biasanya. Namun, perawat ataupun Jelita mempunyai cara tersendiri untuk menjadikan komunikasi mereka termakna dengan baik / There is no human being in this world who cannot not communicate, as well as Jelita, who has cerebral palsy that accomodated by Sayap Ibu Foundation in Bintaro. Patient who has ceberal palsy like Jelita, is one of the child who got noises in her communication process. Therefore, jelita always need a help from the nurses to help her to communicate. This fact can be taken by researcher to describe interpersonal communication interaction that occurs among children with cerebral palsy and the nurses. This research use a study case method with qualitative perspective and take the data collection technique of observation and in-depth interview. From those data collection techniques, researcher found four categories, is how Jelita sends the messages to the nurse; how the nurse interprets her messages; how the nurse sends the messages to her; and how she interprets nurse’s message. The results of this research showed that the interaction of interpersonal communication that occurs among Jelita and the nurse is experiencing interference. Their communication is not like normal human being. But, the nurses and Jelita have their own way to make their communication work very well.
