Abstract
Seorang guru tidak hanya sekedar memiliki pengetahuan kognitif saja. Guru juga dituntut untuk memiliki kompetensi dalam merancang kegiatan pembelajaran. Salah satunya adalah merancang metode yang digunakan dalam menyampaikan materi kepada siswa. Metode yang sering digunakan oleh guru khususnya pada mata pelajaran IPS kelas IV di salah satu sekolah di Jakarta Utara adalah metode ceramah. Guru menggunakan metode tersebut secara berulang�ulang tanpa ada variasi. Selama menggunakan metode ceramah, hasil belajar siswa biasa-biasa saja atau tidak menjadi lebih baik. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melakukan treatment menggunakan metode lain yaitu Teams Games Tournament dengan tujuan untuk melihat apakah TGT dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pra eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-postest design yang dilaksanakan pada tanggal 6-21 Oktober 2015. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 18 siswa kelas IV SD. Dari hasil penelitian dapat dilihat adanya pengaruh Teams Games Tournament (TGT) terhadap hasil belajar siswa dengan thitung (5,120) > ttabel (1,734) atau α (0,05) > p-value (0,000). Berdasarkan penghitungan normal gain, peningkatan pemahaman siswa kategori tinggi hanya ada 1 siswa, kategori sedang ada 14 siswa, dan kategori rendah ada 3 siswa./A teacher does not just have the cognitive knowledge. Teachers also need to have competence in designing learning activities. One of them is to design methods used in conveying the material to the students. The method that is often used by teachers, especially in social studies in grade four at one of the schools in North Jakarta is lecturing. Teachers used these methods over and over again without any variation. During the use of lecturing method, students’ learning outcomes was standard or did not improve. Therefore, researchers applied a treatment by using a method called Teams Games Tournament. It is aimed to see whether Teams Games Tournament can affect student learning outcomes. This research is a pre-experiment with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design which conducted in October 6th until 21th 2015. Sampling technique used is purposive sampling with a total sample of 18 students at elementary school grade four. From the research results can be seen that the influence of TGT on learning outcomes of the students with tcount (5, 120) > ttable (1,734) or (0, 05) > p�value (0,000). Based on the calculation of normal gain, the increasing of students’ understanding of the high category there was only one student, the medium category there were fourteen students, and a lower category there were three students.
