Abstract

Keterampilan menulis siswa merupakan suatu hal yang sangat penting bagi siswa untuk dapat berkomunikasi, berkarya, mengungkapkan perasaan dan lainnya. Bukti yang peneliti temukan di dalam kelas dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, banyak siswa yang tidak memperhatikan beberapa komponen didalam menulis yaitu penggunaan tanda baca, penulisan kata, tata kalimat, dan alur cerita. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, peneliti menggunakan media gambar untuk membantu siswa meningkatkan keterampilan menulis, khususnya dalam memperhatikan komponen penggunaan tanda baca, penulisan kata, tata kalimat, dan alur cerita. Selain itu, peneliti ingin mengetahui cara penerapan media gambar untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan Taggart. PTK ini akan dilaksanakan oleh peneliti sebanyak tiga siklus. Penelitian ini akan dilaksanakan di kelas IV.1 pada Sekolah Dasar XYZ di Rantepao pada tanggal 3, 5, dan 10 November 2015. Instrumen yang digunakan peneliti dalam penelitian ini antara lain : tes, jurnal refleksi, observasi teman sejawat, dan angket siswa. Berdasarkan penelitian ini penggunaan media gambar membantu meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa kelas IV.4 Sekolah Dasar XYZ, Rantepao.Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media gambar dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa./Students‟ writing skill is very important for students to communicate, work, express a feeling, etc. The fact that researcher found in the classroom during Indonesian language lesson was there were so many students looked unfocused in some components in writing like reading mark, word writing, sentence arrangement, and sentence cohesion. To solve this problem, researcher used picture as a media for helping students to improve their writing skill, especially to recognize the reading mark, word writing, sentence arrangement, and sentence cohesion. Moreover, researcher wanted to know wether or not the steps in implementing picture as a media to improve students writing skill. The research method that researcher used in this research was Kemmis and Taggart model of Classroom Action Research (CAR). This CAR was conducted by researcher in three cycles. This research was done in grade 4.1 at XYZ Elementary School in Rantepao on 3rd, 5th, and 10th November 2015. The instruments that used in this research were: test, reflection journal, peer observation form, and students quitionnaire. The result from this research showed that picture as a media in grade 4.1 at XYZ Elementary School in Rantepao could improve the students‟ writing skill.
