Abstract

Bullying verbal dan non-verbal merupakan salah satu masalah dalam dunia pendidikan yang kurang mendapat perhatian serius di Indonesia. Masyarakat pada umumnya menganggap biasa jika belum berdampak secara fisik. Terbukti saatsaat ini, mulai banyak peristiwa memprihatinkan dalam dunia pendidikan disorot, dimana penyebabnya karena hal-hal yang seringkali dianggap biasa. Beberapa liputan berita mempublikasikan masalah bullying dalam dunia pendidikan, misalnya anak berhenti sekolah karena selalu diejek dan bunuh diri karena membaca pesan bullying. Bullying ini justru dapat melukai lebih sakit daripada bullying fisik. Untuk itu, peneliti ingin menelaah dan mendeskripsikan bentukbentuk bullying verbal dan non-verbal, faktor-faktor penyebabnya, dan bagaimana guru meresponi perilaku bullying ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif jenis studi kasus dengan subjek siswa kelas IV. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi partisipasi, wawancara terencana-tidak terstruktur, dan penyebaran kuisioner bagi siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model interaktif Miles and Huberman yakni reduksi data, display data, penarikan kesimpulan dan verifikasi. Uji keabsahan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji kredibilitas. Uji kredibilitas dengan melakukan triangulasi (triangulasi teknik dan sumber) dan bahan referensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bullying verbal yang terjadi mencakup: menjuluki, mengolok, mencaci maki, berkata kotor, mengancam, gosip, yang paling sering terjadi adalah menjuluki. Bullying non-verbal mencakup: mengucilkan, mengejek, dan mengacungkan jari tengah, sesekali diiringi dengan kekerasan secara fisik, yang paling sering terjadi yaitu mengucilkan. Faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan bullying adalah keluarga, lingkungan, media/tayangan, karakter/sifat, dan iklim sekolah. Respon yang diberikan guru terhadap bullying yang terjadi beragam, yakni mengabaikan, menganggap biasa atau wajar, dan memberikan hukuman. Kepala sekolah dan tiga guru sumber memberikan teguran atau hukuman saat siswa mengganggu pelajaran atau melukai secara fisik. / Verbal and non-verbal bullying is one of serious educational problems that got less attention in Indonesia. The people generally assume only a common problem if something is not physically destructed. Nowadays, there are many concerned events in education are highlighted, caused by the things that are often taken for granted. Some news publishes the problem of bullying in education, for example, children drop out of school because there are always ridiculed and committed suicide because of bullying message read. Verbal bullying can actually hurt more than physical bullying. Therefore, the researcher wants to examine and describe the forms of verbal and non-verbal bullying, its causes, and how teachers respond this behavior. This research used a qualitative case study approach with the fourth grade students as subjects. The techniques of data collection used observation, plannedunstructured interviews, and questionnaire for students. Data analysis technique used is an interactive model by Miles and Huberman namely data reduction, data display, conclusion and verification. Data test validation used in this research is credibility test. Credibility test used is triangulation (triangulation techniques and sources) and references. The results showed that verbal bullying occur include: dubbed, mocked, abused, said dirty words, threatening, gossip, the most common is the dubbed. Non-verbal bullying include: isolate, ridicule, and middle finger up, occasionally accompanied by physical violence, which is isolate. Factors that lead to bullying are family, environment, media, character or nature, and school circumstances. The response provided by the teacher against bullying that occur are ignoring, considers usual or reasonable, and punishment. The school principal and three teachers interviewed give warning or punishment when students disrupt teaching or physically hurt.
