Abstract

Matematika dipelajari secara sistematis dan teratur serta disajikan dengan struktur yang jelas dan disesuaikan dengan kemampuan memahami konsep yang dimiliki. Namun, realitanya dalam proses pembelajaran matematika yang peneliti amati ditemukan siswa cenderung menghafal langkah-langkah penyelesaian dari soal-soal yang diberikan. Sehingga dampaknya siswa menjadi lemah dalam memahami konsep dasar matematika. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, peneliti menggunakan pembelajaran kuantum untuk membantu meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa dalam matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) metode Kemmis & Taggart. Penelitian dilakukan mulai tanggal 08 September 2015 hingga 29 September 2015. Penelitian dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus dengan subjek utama penelitian yaitu siswa kelas X1 yang berjumlah 20 siswa. Peneliti menggunakan instrumen berikut untuk mendapatkan informasi, yakni lembar tes siswa, lembar angket siswa, lembar pengamatan guru mentor, dan jurnal refleksi peneliti. Hasil penelitian menunjukan adanya peningkatan pemahaman konsep siswa. Peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menggunakan Quantum Teaching dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas X1 pada pelajaran matematika topik logaritma. / Mathematics is studied systematically and regularly and presented with a clear structure and customizable with the ability to understand the concept. However, such assessment in the process of learning mathematics researchers observe found students tend to memorize the steps of completion of problems are given. So its impact students become weak in understanding the basic concepts of mathematics. As a result, students tend to memorize the steps in completing the questions given. To resolve this problem, the researcher used Quantum Teaching metode to improve the concept understanding of the students in math. The research metode that was used by the researcher is classroom action research (CAR) metode Kemmis & Taggart. The research was conducted starting from 8th September 2015 until 29th September 2015. The research was done in two cycles with the primary subject being the 20 students in grade X1. The researcher used these instruments to gain information namely: students’ test sheets, students’ questionnaire sheets, teacher mentor observation sheet, and personal journal reflections. The result of the research showed that there was an improvement in students’ concept understanding. The researcher concluded that learning by using Quantum Teaching can improve the concept understanding of students in grade X1 in math on the topic of logarithms.
