Abstract

Pemahaman konsep siswa merupakan salah satu hal penting yang harus dicapai dalam suatu pembelajaran. Pada kenyataannya siswa cenderung tidak memperhatikan penjelasan guru dengan baik sehingga tidak memahami materi yang disampaikan. Media pembelajaran menjadi sebuah perantara yang sangat baik dalam menyampaikan materi pelajaran agar siswa dapat memahami materi. Maka itu, dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan media grafis berupa kartu pintar dalam kegiatan review untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. Diharapkan dengan melakukan kegiatan review yang menyenangkan, siswa dapat mengingat dan memahami materi yang telah disampaikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan model Penelitian Tindakan Kelas Kemmis & Taggart. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII dengan jumlah 26 siswa di sebuah Sekolah Kristen di Semarang. Prosedur penelitian pada penelitian ini meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa umpan balik mentor, rubrik observasi, preetest postest dan jurnal refleksi pribadi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif naratif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media grafis berupa kartu pintar dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa kelass VIII SMP pada materi pasar. Hal ini terlihat dari terpenuhinya indikator pemahaman konsep, yaitu siswa dapat menyebutkan ulang suatu konsep, menjelaskan suatu konsep dengan kata-kata sendiri dan juga mampu membedakan konsep. / Students’ conceptual understanding is one of many important things that has to be achieved in learning process. Reality showed that students did not pay attention to teacher’s explanation, It caused student did not understand the lesson. Graphic media become a really good way to help student to understand the lesson. Therefore, the researcher used smart card as media in review activity to increase the students’ conceptual understanding. By doing a fun review activity, student will be able to memorize the lessons. This research based on Kemmis and Taggart’s Classroom Action Research model. Subject of this research is 26 students of grade VIII a Christian school in Semarang. The procedures of this research were planning, action, observation, and reflection. The instrument of data collection are mentor’s feedback, observation rubric, pretest-posttest, and personal reflection journal. Data were analyzed in descriptive narrative. Hal ini terlihat dari terpenuhinya indikator pemahaman konsep, yaitu siswa dapat menyebutkan ulang suatu konsep, menjelaskan suatu konsep dengan kata-kata sendiri dan juga mampu membedakan konsep. The result of this research showed that application of smart card as graphic media could increase students’ conceptual understanding of grade VIII junior high school in marketing lesson. It was seen by the accomplishment of the conceptual understanding indicator, they were student could mention a concept, explain a concept by their own words, and differentiate a concept.
