Abstract
Motivasi belajar merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam seluruh rangkaian proses pembelajaran. Tanpa adanya motivasi belajar dalam diri siswa, proses pembelajaran tidak akan berjalan dengan baik. Tetapi, melalui proses pengamatan, peneliti menemukan fakta mengenai rendahnya tingkat motivasi belajar siswa dalam mata pelajaran Sejarah. Dalam usahanya mengatasi masalah tersebut, peneliti menggunakan media pembelajaran visual untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Pada penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan Mc Taggart. Penelitian yang berlangsung selama tiga siklus ini diadakan di sebuah sekolah swasta Kristen di Kota Ambon. Untuk mendapatkan data-data yang diperlukan, instrumen penelitian yang digunakan antara lain: lembar angket siswa, lembar umpan balik mentor, lembar observasi mentor, dan jurnal refleksi. Data yang diperoleh dari instrumen penelitian dianalisa dengan menggunakan metode narasi deskriptif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, penggunaan media pembelajaran visual dalam penjelasan materi yang guru sampaikan mengenai Renaisans, Reformasi Gereja, dan Revolusi Industri, terbukti mampu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran visual merupakan salah satu sarana dan media pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, khususnya dalam mata pelajaran Sejarah.

Learning motivation is one of important aspects of the whole process of learning. Without learning motivation, the learning process will not run properly. However, through observation, researcher discovered fact that level of student motivation in the subject of history is low. In its efforts to overcome these problems, researcher used visual learning media to increase students' motivation. In this research, the method that used by the researcher is Classroom Action Research by Kemmis and Mc Taggart. The research, which is having three cycles was held at a Christian school in Ambon. To obtain the necessary data, the research instruments used include: student questionnaire sheet, feedback mentor sheets, mentor observation sheets, and journal reflections. Data obtained from the instrument were analyzed using descriptive narrative method. Based on these results, the use of visual learning media in delivering material process about the Renaissance, Reformation of Church, and Industrial Revolution, proven to increase student motivation. Thus, it can be concluded that visual learning media is one of the tools and media that can be used to increase students' motivation, especially in the subjects of history.
