Abstract
Kedisiplinan merupakan aspek penting yang harus dimiliki setiap siswa, untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Akan tetapi, kedisiplinan ini jugalah yang sering ditemukan sebagai permasalahan di dalam kelas. Permasalahan ini ditemukan pada siswa kelas VIII SMP ABC Lampung Tengah dalam mata pelajaran IPS Terpadu. Untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut, dalam penelitian ini diterapkan metode penguatan positif dan negatif untuk meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa kelas VIII. Bentuk penguatan positif yang diterapkan adalah berupa pujian, pita penghargaan, dan penguatan tanda (sertifikat), sementara bentuk penguatan negatif adalah berupa pemotongan waktu dan biaya yang harus dibayar, dengan modifikasi yang disebut dengan „red box’. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis & Mc. Taggart. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII dengan jumlah 14 orang, terdiri dari 11 laki-laki dan 3 perempuan. Adapun hasil penelitian terhadap tingkat kedisiplinan siswa yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah pada siklus pertama 69,8%, 83,4% dan siklus ketiga 93,8%. Maka, dari ketiga siklus tersebut diperoleh 82,3% untuk keseluruhan tingkat kedisiplinan siswa dalam penelitian ini. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, maka disimpulkan bahwa penerapan penguatan positif dan negatif dapat meningkatkan kedisiplinan dalam mata pelajaran IPS Terpadu pada siswa kelas VIII SMP ABC Lampung Tengah.

Discipline is an important aspect that should be owned by every students‟ to achieve the learning objectives. However, this discipline, too, who often found as problems in the classroom. This problem was found in grade VIII SMP ABC Central Lampung in the subjects Social Science. To solve these problems, this study applied a method of positive and negative reinforcement to increase grade VIII students‟ discipline. Form of positive reinforcement that is applied is in the form of praise, award ribbon, and certificates, while the form of negative reinforcement is in the form of time-out and respond cost, with modifications called 'red box'. The methodology used in this research is the Classroom Action Research ( CAR ) method by Kemmis & Mc. Taggart . The subjects were students‟ of grade VIII with the number of 14 people, consisting of 11 male and 3 female. The research results on the level of student discipline gained from this study is the first cycle of 69.8 % , 83.4 % the second cycle and 93.8 % the third cycle. Thus, the cycle of the three cycle was 82.3 % for the overall level of students‟ discipline in this study. From the result, it can beconcluded that the implmentation of positive and negative reinforcement can be used to increase the discipline of Integrated Social Science subjects in grade VIII SMP ABC Central Lampung.
