Abstract

Pendidikan sering kali hanya dilihat dari salah satu aspek saja, cenderung hanya mengutamakan aspek intelektual, sehingga tidak jarang siswa hanya menerima data dan menghafal. Pembelajaran di dalam kelas sering membosankan karena hanya membahas fakta khususnya pembelajaran IPS, atau bahkan menegangkan karena persaingan untuk melihat nilai siapa yang paling tinggi, sehingga siswa hanya belajar jika ujian. Hal-hal ini yang sering terjadi dalam pembelajaran. Pendidikan Kristen yang holistik adalah pendidikan yang menyeluruh dengan mengembangkan semua aspek keberadaan siswa, karena siswa adalah ciptaan yang utuh, maka melalui pendidikan Kristen yang holistik siswa dapat berkembang secara optimal lebih dari itu siswa dapat menemukan jati dirinya dan mengetahui apa yang menjadi tujuan hidupnya. Penelitian dilakukan untuk meneliti bagaimana sekolah XYZ menerapakan pendidikan yang holistik dalam pembelajaran IPS. Serta apa yang menjadi faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam penerapannya. Metode penlitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif studi kasus dengan menggunakan instrumen, lembar wawancara, lembar observasi dan lembar angket. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sekolah ini sudah menerapkan pendidikan yang holistik namun masih ada catatan-catatan yang harus diperhatikan. Hal yang menjadi faktor pendukung ialah adanya program Professional development dari sekolah yang membantu guru dalam penerapannya. Selain itu kendala yang ditemukan ialah padatnya materi yang diajarkan guru dengan waktu yang terbatas. / Education is often seen just from one aspect, intellectual aspect is considered as the most important, no wonder if the students just received the data and swallow up all those data by memorizing it. Learning activities in the classroom frequently give boredom to the student, this happen because student just learned about fact especially in social studies learning. Somehow learning become so tighten because of the competition who will have the best grade, it makes student will learn if only it‟s time to have examination. The researcher found this phenomenon when the researcher was doing observation in learning process. Holistic education is a whole learning which develops all students potentials in harmony, because the student is a whole creature so trough holistic education student can develop optimally and moreover students can find their identity and their life purpose. In this research, the researcher wants to research how this school implements the holistic education in social studies learning. Research method was used in this research was qualitative research, specificly a study case by doing depth interview to the teachers, students‟ questionnaire and observation. The result of the research shows that the school already implemented the holistic education but no yet comprhensively and maximally. The supportive aspect in implementing of holistic education is the school program as professional development which helped the teacher in implementing the holistic education and the obstacle which was found in implementing the holistic education is too much content of the material in social studies class with limited time.
