Abstract
Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan peneliti di kelas 11 IPS SMA NCR, peneliti menemukan bahwa siswa mengalami masalah hasil belajar ranah kognitif pada mata pelajaran Ekonomi. Peneliti memutuskan untuk menerapkan strategi pembelajaran elaborasi tipe PQ4R sebagai upaya untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar pada ranah kognitif. Penerapan strategi PQ4R diterapkan pada materi kebijakan perdagangan dan devisa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) model Kemmis dan Taggart. Penelitian dilaksanakan dari tanggal 27 Oktober – 5 November 2015 yang berlangsung selama dua siklus dengan melibatkan 18 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk memperoleh informasi dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar kuis, lembar check list pelaksanaan PQ4R, lembar angket siswa dan jurnal refleksi. Analisis data secara kualitatif dengan menggunakan statistik sederhana akan digunakan dalam menganalisis data yang diperoleh pada penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa penerapan strategi pembelajaran elaborasi tipe PQ4R dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar kognitif siswa 11 IPS SMA NCR dalam mata pelajaran Ekonomi. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan jumlah siswa yang memperoleh nilai mencapai KKM (Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal) lebih besar sama dengan 75%.

Based on observations conducted by researcher at the 11th grade high school IPS NCR, researcher found that students encounter difficulties in cognitive learning outcomes on Economic subject. Researcher decided to implement learning strategies elaboration PQ4R type in an effort to improve learning outcomes in the cognitive domain. Implementation of the strategy was applied to the material PQ4R trade and foreign exchange policy. The method used in this research was the Classroom Action Research models Kemmis and Taggart. The study took place from 27 October to 5 November 2015 in two cycles involving 18 students. The instruments used to obtain the information in this study were quiz sheet, check list PQ4R implementation sheet, student questionnaire sheet and reflective journal. Qualitative data analysis using simple statistics would be used in analyzing the data obtained this study. The study states that the application of learning strategies elaboration PQ4R types can improve cognitive achievement high school 11 grade of IPS NCR in Economic subject. This was shown by the number of students who received grades scoring criterion complete minimal greater than equal to 75% of the total number of students.
