Abstract
Guru profesional adalah salah satu penentu pendidikan yang bermutu. Guru yang profesional adalah guru yang mampu menguasai bidang studi yang diampunya, menguasai metode dan teknik pembelajaran, menguasai teknologi dan informasi yang menunjang pembelajaran, guru yang mampu menunjukkan sikap dan tingkah laku yang baik, dan guru yang mampu merefleksikan setiap pembelajaran untuk perbaikan kualitas. Dengan kemampuan profesional, guru bertanggung jawab dengan kondisi kelas yang diajarkan. Guru harus mampu mendorong siswa untuk aktif di dalam setiap pembelajaran yang ada sebagai gambaran kecil masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan melihat adakah hubungan antara kompetensi profesional guru terhadap keaktifan siswa dan bagaimanakah hubungan antar variabel tersebut dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif desain studi korelasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner untuk mengumpulkan data. Instrumen akan diuji validitasnya dengan menggunakan expert judgment dan rumus validitas Spearman’s Rho. Sedangkan untuk menghitung reliabilitas, peneliti menggunakan rumus Alpha Cronbach. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan korelasional Spearman’s Rho untuk menguji dua variabel tersebut dengan level signifikansi 0.05. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, disimpulkan bahwa ada korelasi yang kuat antara variabel X dan variabel Y yaitu 0,698 dengan tingkat signifikan 0,000.

Professional teacher is one of the qualified education‟s determinators. A professional teacher is a teacher who is able to dominate learning techniques and methods, capable in technology and in information which support learning, teacher who shows proper acts and deeds, and a teacher who is able to reflect in every learning into a quality improvement. By having the professsional ability, teacher is responsible to the taught class condition. Teacher must be able to encourage students to be active in every learning as a small image of the community. Therefore, this research is aiming to observe is there any relation between teacher professional competence towards student‟s activeness and how major is that relation by using quantitative research methods correlational design. The researcher used questionnaires to collect the data. The instrument‟s validity will be examined by using expert judgment and Spearman‟s Rho validity formula. While to count the realibility, the researcher used Alpha Cronbach formula. The analysis of this data research used the correlational Spearman‟s Rho to examine two variables with 0.05 significance level. Based on the data analysis, concluded that there is a strong correlation between X variable and Y variable which is 0.698 with 0.000 significance level.
