Abstract

Berita bukan merupakan sebuah cerminan dari realitas yang terjadi, karena berita merupakan hasil konstruksi yang dilakukan oleh media massa. Pemberitaan yang dilakukan oleh pekerja media telah melalui proses seleksi sehingga data yang ditemukan dalam lapangan bukan merupakan data yang objektif lagi, melainkan data yang telah diseleksi sebelum diberitakan kepada khalayak. Proses seleksi tersebut dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal dan eksternal dari media massa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan sudut pandang media interaktif Kompas.com dan Republika Online dalam memberitakan kasus kecelakaan lalu lintas Abdul Qodir Jaelani. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah analisis framing dengan model yang dikembangkan oleh Zhongdang Pan dan Gerald M.Kosicki terhadap 29 artikel pemberitaan dari kedua media. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa Kompas.com dan Republika Online memiliki perbedaan sudut pandang dalam memberitakan kasus kecelakaan lalu lintas Abdul Qodir Jaelani. Kompas.com melihat bahwa pihak yang bersalah merupakan Ahmad Dhani dan AQJ, sedangkan Republika Online berpendapat bahwa pihak yang bersalah hanya Ahmad Dhani. / News is not reflection of actual reality, because news is constructed by the media. News, which reported by the media workers, has already passed the selection process, so that the data in the field is no longer objective, but, it is called selected data which is finally reported to the audiences. The internal and external factors of mass media affect those selection processes. The purpose of this research is to find out the distinctive point of view of Kompas.com and Republika Online in their way of reporting Abdul Qodir Jaelani traffic accident case. In this research the method that researcher used is framing analysis by Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki towards 29 articles from both media. The research will show that both media, Kompas.com and Republika Online, have different points of view in reporting Abdul Qodir Jaelani traffic accident case. Kompas.com shows that the suspect is Ahmad Dhani and AQJ, however, Republika Online shows that the suspect is Ahmad Dhani.
