Abstract

Pendidikan memiliki tujuan yaitu berfokus untuk menghasilkan siswa yang memiliki kemampuan menganalisis dan memecahkan masalah dengan menganalisis permasalahan tersebut. Siswa kelas VIII SMP rentang usia 13 – 14 tahun menurut teori Piaget telah masuk ke dalam tahap perkembangan kognitif operasi formal yang seharusnya sudah mampu berpikir secara analitis, mampu memberikan banyak ide atau gagasan serta memiliki solusi jawaban alternatif yang lebih efisien. Namun, pada kenyataannya ketika siswa diberikan pertanyaan yang mengarah untuk berpikir analitis siswa cenderung diam yang mengindikasikan kurang memiliki gagasan serta solusi jawaban yang diberikan kurang efisien. Maka dari itu peneliti mengambil judul penelitian penerapan pembelajaran berbasis masalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir analitis siswa kelas VIII SMP AZ Tangerang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penerapan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir analitis siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif posstest only group design quasi experiments. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Kristen AZ Tangerang, Banten, tahun akademik 2015/2016 dengan jumlah siswa 33 orang di kelas kontrol dan 31 orang siswa kelas eksperimen. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes dan didukung oleh angket yang keduanya telah diujicoba dan divalidasi serta diuji reliabilitasnya. Teknik analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan independent t-test. Hasil dari analisis data adalah pada perlakuan I kelas eksperimen tidak memiliki pengaruh (nilai signifikansi 2-tailed 0,475 > 0,05) sedangkan perlakuan II memiliki pengaruh berupa peningkatan dari data perlakuan I (nilai signifikansi 2-tailed 0,000 < 0,05). Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir analitis. / Education’s purpose is focused to produce student who has ability to analyze and solve problem by anlyzing that problem. Grade VIII students of Junior High School in age range 13-14 year old categorize in the formal operation cognitive development stage of Pigate’s theory which should be able to think analytically, give a lot of ideas or opinions and have alternative solutions which are more efficient. In the reality, when the students were given questions that drove them to think analytically, the students tent to be quite which indicated that the student lack of opinion and the solutions that given were not efficient. Because of that the researcher took “The Implementation of Problem Based Learning to Improve Student’s Analytics Thinking Skill in Grade VIII AZ Christian Junior High School Tangerang” as the research’s title. The purpose if this research is to know the effect of Problem Based Learning implementation on students’ analytic thinking.This is quantitative research with posttest only group design quasi experiments. The subject was grade VIII students in AZ Christian Junior High School Tangerang, Banten, academic year 2015/2016 with 33 students in control class and 31 students in experiment class. Data was collected by using test and was supported with questionnaire. Noth of those instruments has been tried to check the validity and reliability. Data analysis technique used was independent t-test with normality and homogeneity test. The result of data anaylis was that there was no signifcant effect of firest treatment in experiment class (significant value two-tailed test 0,475>0.05), while there is significant effect which was increase of data campared to first treatment data (significant value two-tailed 0,000<0,05). Therefore, it can be concluded that problem based learning model can in crease students’ analytic thinking.
