Abstract

Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI) memiliki keberagaman suku, ras, budaya, dan agama. Agama islam merupakan agama yang paling banyak dianut oleh masyarakat Indonesia dengan jumlah 87,2% dari 270 juta jiwa dan untuk DKI Jakarta mencapai 84% atau 9,3 juta jiwa. Budaya patriarki masih melekat di Indonesia, sehingga perjuangan kesetaraan gender bagi perempuan muslim masih mencolok. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode penelitian fenomenologi. Pengumpulan data menggunakan data primer yaitu wawancara secara mendalam dan data sekunder berupa studi kepustakaan. Wawancara dilakukan dengan informan yang merupakan perempuan muslim berusia 25 tahun - 30 tahun dengan memiliki pekerjaan tetap dan berdomisili di DKI Jakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dibalik kekuatan data, adanya ketidaksetaraan perempuan muslim yang bekerja di DKI Jakarta baik secara agama Islam. Berdasarkan data informan, budaya patriarki sudah tidak diterapkan dan kesetaraan bagi perempuan sudah diterapkan. Impression management yang dipraktikan oleh perempuan muslim yang bekerja, menciptakan toleransi yang tinggi. Salah satu bentuk strategi impression management yaitu self-fulfilling prophecy yang dipraktikkan oleh perempuan muslim yang mengenakan hijab, bukan sebuah halangan untuk bekerja. Sehingga melalui impression management dan self-fulfilling prophecy dapat menciptakan dan menguatkan keyakinan bahwa perempuan muslim yang bekerja dapat merepresentasikan sebagai perempuan muslim yang ideal tanpa meninggalkan peraturan pada agama Islam. / The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) has a diversity of tribes, races, cultures, and religions. Islam is the religion most widely embraced by the people of Indonesia with the number of 87.2% of 270 million people and for DKI Jakarta reached 84% or 9.3 million people. Patriarchy culture is still inherent in Indonesia, so the struggle for gender equality for Muslim women is still striking. This research was conducted with qualitative approach and phenomenological research method. Data collection using primary data is in-depth interviews and secondary data in the form of literature studies. The interview was conducted with an informant who is a Muslim woman aged 25 years - 30 years with a permanent job and domiciled in DKI Jakarta. The results showed that behind the power of data, there is inequality of Muslim women working in DKI Jakarta both islamic religion. Based on informant data, patriarchy culture is no longer applied and equality for women has been implemented. Impression management strategy practiced by muslim women who work, creates a high tolerance. One form of impression management is self-fulfilling prophecy practiced by Muslim women who wear the hijab, not an obstacle to work. So that through impression management and self-fulfilling prophecy can create and strengthen the belief that working Muslim women can represent as an ideal Muslim women without abandoning the rules on Islam.
