Abstract

Penguasaan bahasa Inggris anak usia dini tidak dapat disamakan dengan orang dewasa. Bahasa Inggris untuk anak usia dini hanyalah sebatas pengenalan kosakata yang dijumpai di lingkungannya. Tujuan penelitian tindakan kelas ini adalah untuk mengenalkan kosakata bahasa Inggris pada kegiatan bernyanyi, mengetahui kosakata dan pelafalan bahasa Inggris anak usia 4-5 tahun setelah kegiatan bernyanyi lagu bahasa Inggris, serta kendala-kendala yang dihadapi dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan bernyanyi lagu bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah anak usia 4-5 tahun. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan triangulasi yaitu melalui observasi, catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan melalui proses reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan (verifikasi). Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa: (1) kegiatan bernyanyi untuk mengenalkan kosakata bahasa Inggris anak dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan lagu lirik sederhana, gerakan, dan penggunaan alat peraga (2) kosakata bahasa Inggris anak bertambah melalui kegiatan bernyanyi lagu bahasa Inggris yang dilaksanakan berulang-ulang, (3) mengenalkan pelafalan bahasa Inggris pada anak diperlukan langkah-langkah yang tepat, (4) dibutuhkan waktu lebih lama dalam menjelaskan dan mengajarkan lagu bahasa Inggris yang dinyanyikan. / The English mastery in early childhood is different from adult learner. English for early childhood is specifically intended for familiarizing vocabulary in their environment.The aim of this action research was to examine the introduction of English vocabulary and pronunciation after singing English songs and obstacles in the implementation of singing English songs. This research utilized the method of action research. The research subject are children age 4-5 years. Triangulation was used in the data collectionmethod, which includes observation, field notes, and documentation. Data analysis was applied using data reduction process, data presentation and conclusion (verification).The resultsof this reseach were: (1)the use of simple lyrics, movementand hand property enabled the process of English familiarization easier; (2) children’s vocabularies increase through singing activities carried out repeatedly; (3) introduction ofEnglish pronunciation needs the right steps; (4) it required a longer time to explain and teach English songs.
