Abstract
Prevalensi penderita gangguan berbicara dan berbahasa pada anak usia
dini yang meningkat setiap tahun di Indonesia dan dampaknya terhadap
perkembangan anak secara holistik termasuk dalam diri subyek penelitian menjadi
latar belakang penelitian ini. Subyek penelitian adalah seorang anak berusia lima
tahun yang memiliki kemampuan berbahasa lisan dan tulisan yang sangat terbatas
sehingga menghambat kemampuan matematika dan kemandiriannya. Tujuan dari
penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perkembangan keterampilan berbahasa,
kemampuan matematika dan kemandiriannya selama penelitian ini berlangsung.
Selama delapan minggu, subyek penelitian melakukan kegiatan pembelajaran
dengan cara bermain menggunakan alat-alat permainan edukatif. Penelitian ini
bersifat kualitatif deskriptif dan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam
penelitian ini adalah dengan melakukan wawancara, pengisian lembar ceklis dan
observasi. Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang intensif dan dengan menggunakan
skala Likert 1-4, terlihat adanya peningkatan dengan tingkat sedang pada
variabel-variabel yang diamati. Skor rata-rata untuk bahasa meningkat dari 1,5
menjadi 2,9 dengan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,56, untuk matematika meningkat dari
1,7 menjadi 3,0 dengan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,57 dan untuk kemandirian
meningkat dari 2,1 menjadi 3,0 dengan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,47. Penelitian
longitudinal terhadap subyek penelitian selama 1-2 tahun dibutuhkan untuk
mendapatkan hasil yang lebih konklusif dan berarti. / The number of speech and language disorder among early age children
keeps rising every year in Indonesia and its big impact on the children holistic
development, in particular on the subject of this study, became the background of
this overall research. The subject of this research is a five years old child with
very limited verbal and written language abilities hindered her math ability and
self-independence. This circumstance laid foundation to the objective of this
research which is to identify the development of language and mathematic ability
as well as self-independence of the subject during this research. The learning was
conducted in eight weeks with mainly playing with educational toys as the main
activities. This is a descriptive qualitative research in which the data were
collected using direct interviews, checklist instruments and observations. Based
on intensive observations using the Likert scale of 1-4, there were medium
increases in the observed variables. For the language ability the average score
increased from 1.5 to 2.9 with the N-gain of 0,56, for the mathematic ability the
average score increased from 1.7 to 3.0 with the N-gain of 0,57 and for the selfindependence the average score increased from 2.1 to 3.0 with N-gain of 0,47. A
longitudinal study on the child for one or two years is needed to arrive at a more
meaningful and conclusive findings
