National Tumor Center is the first hospital specialized in curing tumor in Bandung. The location of this hospital is situated in Braga Avenue which is rich with Bandung’s history. We can see that from many buildings from the Dutch era and there are many art deco style buildings along the way. National Tumor Center which is 12 (twelve) floor high is a mix-used building in which the main function is a hospital for tumor disease and the support function is for condominium as a place for patients and senior citizens that require special attention. It also has other function such as retails for fulfilling the needs of the hospital and patients. The design approach for National Tumor Center is taking art deco style with consideration that there is a government regulation stated that buildings in this area must be Colonial, Sundanese traditional, or Art Deco style. The main traits of art deco style which are implemented in National Tumor Center design are the usage of horizontal and vertical lines on the building façade for an ornament. There are also some shape repetitions on windows, sculptures, etc. The building mass is made based on cubism principle which is a typical modern art deco style and the use of structural modular system.
