Abstract
in an ever expanding city like Jakarta, where millions of people of different social backgrounds dwell and try to earn a living, public housing is a major issue that seems to be forgotten. Blocks of poorly designed apartment buildings in suburban area the current trend of Jakarta's public housing While the project's costs can be saved from the cheap land price and terrible construction design and material, the inhabitants of the buildings in social activity system. The public housing program in Kali Besar area is designed to be an option in solving public housing problems in Jakarta. This housing program is planned in area that is accessible from activity centers, constructed in efficient way so that it can be afforded by lower income inhabitants without eliminating the basic requirements of a public housing in accommodating the dweller's private and social activities.
