Abstract

Sejalan dengan perkembangan zaman, manusia telah menciptakan sebuah alat yang berfungsi untuk mengupas kulit apel dengan mudahnya. Teknologi alat ini sangat modern di mana pengguna akan menggunakan tangannya dalam memutar untuk mengupas kulit apel, tetapi apabila dilakukan secara terusmenerus, tangan orang tersebut pasti akan terasa lelah dan pegal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut dengan membuat alat pengupas kulit apel secara otomatis. Alat pengupas kulit apel secara otomatis dibuat dengan menggunakan motor AC untuk menggerakkan alat tersebut. Motor AC yang digunakan memiliki daya 20 watt dengan kecepatan putaran sekitar 1200 rpm. Alat ini menggunakan worm gear, worm wheel, dan spur gear untuk mengurangi kecepatan motor menjadi 5 rpm untuk menggerakkan pisau dan 80 rpm untuk menggerakkan penusuk apel. Alat ini mampu mengupas kulit apel yang ada tetapi masih belum sempurna karena kurang kuatnya pisau, pegas, dan motor pada alat ini. Waktu yang diperlukan alat ini untuk mengupas kulit apel adalah sekitar 4 detik setiap apel. Alat pengupas kulit apel yang dibuat memiliki dimensi panjang 31 cm, lebar 31 cm dan tinggi 29,5 cm. Biaya yang diperlukan untuk membuat alat pengupas kulit apel secara otomatis ini adalah Rp 1.865.000,00. / As the time goes by, people have created a tool that serves in peeling the apple skin easily. This tool is modern in which the user’s hand rotates this tool to peel the apple skin, but if they use the tool continously their hand will be tired and sored. The purpose of this study is to resolve these problems by making an automatic apple peeler. The automatic apple peeler is created using AC motor to drive this tool. This AC motor has power of 20 watts with a rotation speed about 1200 rpm. This tool uses a worm gear, worm wheels and spur gears to reduce speed to 5 rpm for rotating the knife and 80 rpm for rotating apple’s awl. The automatic apple peeler is able to peel the apple skin but this tool is not perfect because the cutter, spring and motor are not strong enough. This tool can peel the apple skin approximately 4 seconds per apple. The automatic apple peeler has the dimensions of length 31 cm, width 31 cm, and the height 29.5 cm. The cost to build this automatic apple peeler is Rp 1,865,000.
